VENETIAN RIVER - GREVENA

 VENETIAN  RIVER

River of Western Macedonia, the largest river of Greece, located entirely in Greek territory and has a total length of 297 km crosses the prefectures of Grevena, Kastoria, Kozani, Pieria Imathia. 

 Receives the surplus waters of Lake Kastoria and the waters: Livadopotamou, Stravopotamou, Vela, Ntrampoutiotikou, Pramoritsa, Grevena, Venice, Stavropotamos, Edesseos of the lake drainage ditch Giannitsa. Flows into the Thermaikos Gulf, just south of the mouth of the Axios river creating an extensive delta rich in flora and fauna.


 The tour of the bridges or through rivers (Aliakmonas and Venetian) or by walking in riverside trails combines recreation with exercise, allowing guests to develop activities such as fishing, rafting and kayaking, acquaintance with the natural environment area and local history.
