THE BUTTERFLIES VALLEY


   The Valley of the Butterflies, Rhodes (Dodecanese,in south eastern Aegean) is known throughout the world as a unique habitat of rare natural beauty. 
It is qualified as an ecosystem of great natural beauty, a Natura 2000.It is located 16 kilometers southwest of  Rhodes city. It is filled with streams, pine trees, fig trees, colorful flowers and thousands of butterflies!
     In summer, the butterflies flock is an attraction for thousands of visitors. Tourists and even researchers and scientists come to enjoy and explore this rare phenomenon.
